Kalin Vassilev was born in 1983 in Veliko Tarnovo. He graduated from the High School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in the city and continues to study in the bachelor's program in Biology and Chemistry at Gettysburg College, USA. Upon graduation, he was awarded a university prize for his overall contribution to the Department of Biology. Until the beginning of 2014, he spent a post-doctoral specialization at the University of Cambridge (England). Upon his return to Veliko Tarnovo Kalin Vasilev created the informal civic group "Tarnovo Runs". This innovative organizational model gives people the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle through free educational, practical and motivational events: outdoor training, running, yoga, hiking, cycling, seminars, consultations, clubs, information campaigns, camps and others.
