The “Dr Petar Beron” Bulgarian Community Language School in Sydney provides bilingual English & Bulgarian education. Classes start from Kindergarten and go all the way through to Year 7. The school provides comprehensive bilingual and bi-cultural studies allowing children to gain awareness and value of their Bulgarian culture. The school also accomodates for those who are temporarily in Sydney. The School is fully accredited by the NSW Department of Education and the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science as well as being a member of the NSW Federation of Community Language Schools. Our teachers Mrs Marina Mileva, Mrs Larisa Nakova, Mrs Nina Nouneva have successfully completed their Diplomas and Certificates in Language Teaching with University of Sydney.

The main aim of the school is to develop the main language skills of speaking and listening, reading and writing, and to foster a love of language and culture by providing programs that include traditions and customs. The school is committed to providing programs approved by Department of Education which build on what students know, as well as taking into account different ways and rates of learning.

Team programming and regular program reviews together with a history of curriculum development contribute to a high standard of teaching within the school. Student progress is reported formally at the end of each year and parents, students, and teachers communicate regularly on an informal basis. The school places a high value on cooperation between parents and the school. Parent interest and support is consistently high.

Every year students from community languages schools are recognised for their hard work and excellence through the Minister's Awards for Excellence in Student Achievement.
In 2018, Minister's Awards were presented to Dimitar Kraytchev and Veronica Tihomirova, students of the Bulgarian Community Language School at a ceremony conducted at the University of New South Wales on 29 October 2018.
